A Time for New Beginnings
Many people lay out sophisticated new years resolutions only to shortly let them go by the wayside. Let me suggest this year instead of giving up something that you add on a few new resolutions. Some suggestions I might think of would be:
1. Choose 2012 to set aside time each day to read Holy Scripture. Remember John Wesley read a chapter each morning from the Old Testament and a Psalm; then, at bedtime he read a chapter from the New Testament and a Psalm. This allowed God's word to always be written on his heart.
2. Choose a charity to donate a portion of your time and maybe your money. Remember God calls us to give a tithe to the Church first. Some local charities are Feed My Lambs, Sweeny United, West Brazos Cares, West of the Brazos Community Troop Support, Brazoria County Calvary, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are a few that come to my mind.
3. Choose a day each week to do a good deed for someone else.

For everything there is a Season . . .
Jesus Christ is my constant companion. 24/7 I live in the blessed assurance that He is at my side. We are stepping into a New Year with all of the promises that is held in that event. You and I have the ability to make this the best year ever. I pray your life will be blessed by His presence, His love, and His grace. Someone will be getting married in 2012, we pray for eternal happiness on this blessed event. Someone will become a new grandparent or great grandparent during 2012. We pray for a blessed, healthy infant. May each of you have a heart warmed by His touch, wisdom shared by His word, happiness caused by His presence in your life.
HAPPY NEW YEAR

A TIME FOR NEW BEGININGS
"Just as Jesus Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." Romans 6:4, As we approach New Years Eve our minds and heart think of new beginnings.
Our worship service last Sunday had a joyous conclusion. Our song Director, John Poland, invited Sue Ellen Neatherly to join him where he bowed to her and ask for her hand in marriage. We hope to celebrate this union sometime in 2012. Sweet ending to Worship on Christmas Day. Maybe I should mention she said yes.
Our heartfelt congratulations to John and Sue Ellen. Now, THAT is a new beginning for 2012.

Caroling Hay Ride 2011
The Children’s Department would like to invite each and every one of you to join us as we venture out on our 3rd Annual Caroling Hayride.
Sunday, December 4th, after Church.
We will have a quick lunch in the Family Life Center and then proceed to “Carol” our way through Sweeny as we visit our shut-ins & The Fountains to deliver Christmas gift baskets.
Donations are Needed for Gift Baskets!
Some suggestions include:
Slipper Socks, Stocking Caps, Shawls or Scarves, Hard Candy, Snack Crackers with Cheese, Stationary & Stamps, Fresh Fruit & Nuts.
We will be making 30 baskets for our Church’s Shut-Ins & the residents of The Fountains plus 1 large basket of fruit, candy & nuts for the staff (18) of The Fountains. There are aprox. 6 men and 24 women who will be receiving the baskets so please keep that in mind when shopping for goodies. Donations may be brought to the Church Office or given to Anna or Jessica. You can also drop them off at V7 Photos (Monday, Wednesday & Fridays) if you miss us at the office. Please bring everything but the fruit by November 27th so that we can have the baskets ready to go except for adding the fruit the day of the Caroling Hay Ride. Please bring the fruit on Sunday, December 4th.
